As previously reported, AEW and ITV announced what was considered a disappointing TV deal. Today (Wednesday, October 2nd) ITV announced a major update to the AEW: Dynamite schedule on ITV.
ITV Tweeted out an announcement simply saying “ANNOUNCEMENT – NEW SCHEDULE”
The previous deal was disappointing to British fans as they thought the show would not be available on TV until Sunday morning. Since then, a deal with Fite TV was announced for AEW Plus on Fite TV to air AEW: Dynamite live and on-demand for just £4.89($4.99). And now with the latest announcement, fans will be able to view AEW: Dynamite on the ITV Hub (ITV’s online streaming service) by Thursday evening at 7pm. AEW: Dynamite will then be shown on British TV for the first time on Friday night at 11:20pm on ITV4. This is a much more favorable first-run time for the show to be airing than Sunday morning. The show will get a Sunday morning showing still as Dynamite will still air at 8:20am on ITV4. A one hour highlight will still air on Mondays at 11:45pm on ITV. ITV is the second strongest channel in the UK and this replay is very important. I would love to see a Saturday morning highlight show on ITV to expose the product to a younger audience, but that could all change in time.
All-in-all, this announcement is a very positive one for British fans looking to view Dynamite but unable to subscribe to AEW Plus for whatever reason, and All Elite Wrestling when it comes to exposure in the UK.
