WWE has been taping shows around the UK for a few months now, as on June 18th, 2018, it was announced that WWE would begin filming the new show entitled NXT UK. Taping commenced in July of 2018 and it was announced that this new brand would have new championships to join the NXT UK Championship, currently held by Pete Dunne. The new championships would consist of a Women’s Championship and a Tag Team Championship.
WWE announced on social media and their website “NXT UK, a new weekly episodic series featuring the greatest male and female competitors from the U.K., will stream on WWE Network on Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. BT/3 p.m. ET.”
Also in the announcementwas the information that the Commentary team will be Nigel McGuinness and Vic Joseph, meaning this will be the only two man booth in WWE at this current time.

It has been speculated that WWE would try to find a home for this new television show on a major provider in the UK, like Sky or BT TV, but they have decided on airing this show on the WWE Network. I’m guessing that’s at least partly because of declining ratings of WOS Wrestling on ITV.
This is a stacked line-up and being British and having the pleasure of seeing most of these wrestlers live for a number of years I can honestly say that I’m very excited to see this show on October 17th.
