In a one minute and forty four second video Matt Hardy says he wants to take a moment to “address all the WWE Universe, all the Woken Warriors, all the Hardy Boy fans, all the Mattitude followers” he goes on to say “I’ll never forget the reaction the WWE Universe gave us at Wrestlemania 33 upon returning, it was truly one of the greatest moments of my career. Wrestlemania 34 was a great moment, winning the Andre The Giant Battle Royal and I got to bring my creation, The Ultimate Deletion to Raw and the main event slide. A lot of cool stuff I’ve got to do.” Matt Hardy says “There’s been a lot of speculation for quite a while online” and then he pauses for a moment, but then says “If I’m going to be wrestling any longer or not” Matt continues “WWE fortunately they let me fulfil all my advertised commitments. But tonight, here in Corpus Christi this was the last advertised commitment I had.” After playing into his Woken character and saying “Never say Never” Matt Hardy slips back into his quiet, peaceful tone and inflection whilst saying “Tonight here in Corpus Christi is most likely the last time you’ll ever see Woken Matt Hardy in a WWE ring.” When asked what’s next, Matt Hardy responds with ” I have two young kids and a wife” “It’s time for me to go home.” Then Matt Hardy walked off into the distance as the video ended.
With the idea of Jeff Hardy in a Hell In A Cell match tonight(September 16th, 2018) against Randy Orton and the thought that Jeff has always wanted a HIAC match before he finishes his career, could we see a WWE without the Hardy Boyz again soon?
WWE haven’t had much to say on this matter except for sharing the video on their website.
