NJPW – Road to Destruction – Blue Justice IIV – September 9th, 2018 – Results

This show is based around the return of Satoshi Kojima in a NJPW ring, this show is also the last of the Road to Destruction shows and the final hype for the upcoming matches that will headline the Destruction shows.

Yuya Uemura vs Yota Tsuji

  • This was a classic Young Lions match, both showed fire and a good wrestling technique. The NJPW Dojo produces world class athletes and great wrestlers constantly and being able to go out in either a singles or tag match really helps these young wrestlers. Tsuji and Uemura fight to a 10 minute time limit draw.

Ren Narita, Shota Umino,Aya Yoshida & Michael Elgin vs Taiji Ishimore, Tanga Loa, Tama Tonga & Bad Luck Fale

  • With three Young Lions on his team, Michael Elgin has a difficult job against the aggressive and resourceful OG BC. The three Young Lions showed lots of fire and courage, taking out the OG BCs and even managing the get the big man, Bad Luck Fale off his feet but the OGs would take over. Getting the heat on Aya for an extended period, other Young Lions were taken out at ringside leaving Elgin to get the hot tag. Elgin ran wild on all four of the OG BCs until they overwhelmed him and Ren Narita got the tag but Taiji Ishimore tapped him out. Winners: Taiji Ishimore, Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa and Bad Luck Fale.

Gedo & Hirooki Goto vs El Desperado & Taichi

  • The two Chaos members, Gedo and Goto took control of the match early with Got taking it to Taichi outside the ring. When Got tagged Gedo in the match changed with El Desperado distracting Gedo so Taichi could attack, this led to all four fighting in the crowd and at ringside with chairs. The focus moved to El Desperado and Taichi targeting the knee of Gedo. Gedo made a tag to Goto who is explosive and always fun to watch but Taichi takes control and rips his tights off, revealing small, tight trunks. After a kick from to the head from Taichi and a Pinche Loco from El Desperado, El Desperado pinned Gedo. Winners: El Desperado and Taichi.

TAKA Michinoku, Kanemaru, Iizuka, Minoru Suzuki vs BUSHI, SANADA, EVIL, Tetsuya Naito

  • This started off with fighting all over the arena, in the crowd and at ringside. One of the main focuses was Suzuki vs Naito as Suzuki choked Naito out with a chair, in the crowd. Iizuka went on his classic biting spree and even tries to bite the ref before tagging in Minoru Suzuki, who immediately targets the knee of SANADA. The focus quickly returned to Naito and Suzuki as Naito got the tag, these two fought for a while until it broke down and BUSHI pinned TAKA with his second rope code breaker. Winners: Los Ingobernables De Japon

YOSHI-HASHI & Kazuchika Okada vs Toa Henare & Hiroshi Tanahashi

  • This started with Okada and Tanahashi in the ring to promote and build interest in their upcoming match for the IWGP Championship match at Wrestlekingdom but when YOSHI-HASHI and Toa Henare tagged in, this match broke down. Okada clotheslined Tanahashi out of the ring and took him into the crowd to fight on the chairs. Later in the ring, Okada was in control of Henare until Tanahashi got the hot tag. After a few minutes of offence from Tanahashi, Okada made a comeback only to have his rainmaker attempt turned into a slingblade for Tanahashi. Tanahashi throws Okada out of the ring and tells Henare to finish TOSHI-HASHI ten crossbodies Okada over the top rope. YOSHI-HASHI was too much at the end for Henare and tapped to YOSHI-HASHI’s butterfly lock. Winners: YOSHI-HASHI and Okada.

Tomohiro Ishii, Will Ospreay, Beretta & Toru Yano vs Chase Owens, Yujiro Takahashi, Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega

  • Yano wanted to start this match fro his team so Yujiro Takahashi started for his. Yano immediately tried to cheat and go for the corner pads but was stopped by Kenny, Ospreay tagged in for his team and he wanted Kota Ibushi. These two are great together and I say it every time but i would really love a singles match between Ospreay and Kota Ibushi. The team of Kenny, Yujiro and Chase did the “row your boat” spot while Kota and Ospreay fought in the middle of the circle, very funny. This was a lot of very fast paced action with, in my opinion, Will Ospreay looking great in this match. In the end Beretta reversed a package piledriver from Chase Owens into a reverse tombstone for the win. Winners: Beretta, Will Ospreay, Toru Yano and Tomohiro Ishii.

Tomoaki Honma, Juice Robinson, David Finlay & Togi Makabe vs Nakanishi, Hiroshi Tenzan, Yugi Nagata & Satoshi Kojima

  • All members off the Honma, Juice, Finlay and Makabe team received flower from small children in the ring before the next team entered. The Children were back in the ring with more flowers for the second team that included the returning Kojima from injury. Kojima kicked this off against Togi Makabe and Kojima looked good.I really like Satoshi Kojima and his Twitter his very funny. Nakanishi and Juice were both tagged in and looked competitive with each other until Finlay got in and Nakanishi suplexed the both of them. Big pop for Blue Justice, Yugi Nagata as he tags in and also for Tenzan. Tenzan and Togi Makabe fight for an extended period and really beat the hell out of each other until they tag in Yuji Nagata and Juice Robinson, respectively. Satoshi Kojima begged for the tag from Yuji Nagata and he got it. Kojima ran wild for a few minutes until David Finley got involved and took everyone on Kojima’s team out but it would backfire moments later as Kojima hit a Lariat on Finlay for the win. Winners: Satoshi Kojima, Yui Nagata, Hiroshi Tenzan and Nakanishi.

HINT: NJPW charges at the beginning of the month, like mist Japanese subscription services, so your best time to subscribe is early in the month. NJPW World is ¥999 per month which is less than the WWE Network and about the same price as Netflix.
