NJPW G1 Climax 28 – competitors announced

Today New Japan Pro Wrestling announced, on njpwworld and Social media, the competitors for the G1 Climax this year.

The G1 Climax is a heavyweight tournament that New Japan host each year and this years is the 28th G1 tournament.

Often when a competitor wins this tournament it leads to them challenging for the championship at New Japan’s biggest show of the year, Wrestlekingdom, in January.

Last year’s G1 winner saw Tetsuya Naito win and go on the challenge Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at this year Wrestlekingdom, six and a half months ago.

The big news for us English speaking fans is that all 19 shows will be aired Live on njpwworld and all with English Commentary.

New Japan released this video earlier today.
