Best In The World Preview
With ROH Best In The World less than one month away, on June 29th. And with the confirmed stars already starting to stack up I thought it would be best to run through some of the announced matches and stars set to appear on this Ring Of Honor PPV. This PPV is available on FiteTV and Honor Club.
ROH Tag Title Match – Briscoes(c) Vs The Young Bucks
The Briscoes have had a mean streak going back to late 2017 where they beat up Bully Ray(Then Babyface) and since them been ripping through the ROH Tag division.
The Young Bucks won a tag team gauntlet match in Las Vegas to earn a championship match. When Matt & Nick Jackson faced Mark & Jay Briscoe in Pittsburgh, the Briscoes left the challengers laying with steal chairs for the DQ. The Young Bucks won the match but not the titles. Since then The Briscoe brothers have left the Bullet Club laying after brutal attacks, multiple times, so The Bucks have some beef to settle with the two farmer brothers, Mark & Jay Briscoe. My pick, The Bucks win.
Triple Threat Match For The ROH World Championship – Cody vs Dalton(c) vs Marty Scurll
I’m expecting this to be really good. Marty has been chasing the Championship for a while now, he came really close in his first championship match but Dalton was too much in that encounter. Marty then beat the champion, Dalton Castle, at Masters Of The Craft in a Defy Or Deny match where Marty and Dalton was the last two in the match and the stipulation was if Marty pinned Dalton he got another shot but if Dalton pinned Marty, The Villain wouldn’t get another chance as long as Dalton was Champ. Sure enough, Marty pinned Dalton.
Then we have Cody, the former Champion who never got his rematch and one third of the people putting together the ALL IN show. That is where things get a little bit more interesting, Cody has challenged the NWA champion, Nick Aldis to a match at ALL IN for the NWA Title and Aldis accepts under one condition. Recently at an ROH Honor Club event in Doncaster, England. Aldis revealed he would accept the challenge under the condition, if Cody wins the ROH Title the Match at ALL IN would be championship vs championship for the first time ever!
In all of this it feels that the champion has kind of been forgotten about and this falls right in line with some fans outlook on Dalton’s reign as ROH Champ. Not me tho, I’ve enjoyed this reign by Dalton because I’m a fan of his and have been for years so for me to see him in the main events is good, even if it has been less than I would of liked. My pick to win is Cody but only because of the stipulation. It’s a tough one for me.
